Localization: CNCF glossary

Leveraging my language skills, I collaborate with OS projects to localize software documentation.
Skills I excel at that that help me accurately localize documentation:
  • Strong language skills: I am proficient in both English (source language) and Spanish (target language) and I posses a deep understanding of the grammar, syntax, and idiomatic expressions of both languages.
  • Cultural knowledge: I have a thorough knowledge of the cultural norms and values of the target audience which helps me ensure that the localized document is culturally appropriate and relevant.
  • Attention to detail: I am attentive to the meaning of words and phrases, as even small errors or omissions can have a significant impact on the accuracy and effectiveness of the localized document.
  • Research and interviewing skills: when I lack sufficient knowledge to localize a document, I conduct research and interview SMEs to ensure that the document is accurate and meets the requirements of the target audience.
  • Technical skills: I use Git, GitHub, Markdown, and VS Code to collaborate with OS localization projects.

In March 2023, I joined the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) Glossary localization project and worked on the Spanish localization of the following concepts:

  • Containers as a Service (CaaS)
  • DevSecOps
  • Distributed System
  • Loosely coupled architecture

I also edited and updated the “How to contribute” Spanish guide.

The following is a list of pull requests of my contributions that have been merged into the GitHub repository of the CNCF glossary. As of March 15 2023, these contributions are pending to be published on the Spanish CNCF Glossary web page.
