A Ph.D. researcher turned into a technical writer...
I cultivated a successful career as a scientific researcher, with seven peer-reviewed publications, two book chapters, and over ten presentations at international conferences. However, at the end of my Ph.D. I found myself becoming disengaged from the work itself. After careful introspection, I realized that while I valued the knowledge gained, pursuing research no longer provided internal fulfillment.
I explored various professional pivots to apply my English writing skills, methodical nature, and analytical capabilities in more invigorating capacities. When discovering the field of technical writing, I was intrigued by harmonizing technological proficiency with skillful writing to accelerate understanding. Delving deeper into this discipline revealed tremendous opportunities to produce clear explanatory materials with wide-ranging positive impact.
Immersed in this discovery process, my long-absent spark was reignited through engaging books, courses, communities, and self-guided tools exploration. With escalating interest and enthusiasm, I have actively developed relevant abilities to transition toward a technical writing role focused on creating exceptional user experiences through documentation quality, utility and excellence. I look forward to continuing my growth in this stimulating direction.
