The Good Docs Project (TGDP) is an international open-source community of technical writers who create best practice templates and writing instructions for documenting software.
I joined TGDP in June 2022, became a co-lead Technical Writer of The Chronologue working group in December 2022, and joined the Project Steering Committee of TGDP in August 2023.
As a co-lead of The Chronologue team, I identified a need to streamline and support contributions to The Chronologue Project which led me to write this Contributing Guid where I documented:
- Rules.
- Best practices.
- Contribution process and workflows.
- Deliverables.
As a result of this work, the Chronologue team has improved its onboarding process and member retention.
Skills and tools I used while producing this document: VS code, Git, GitLab, Markdown, team collaboration, editing, proofreading, attention to detail.
